The Ottawa Senators are among a group of clubs that have shown interest in Vancouver Canucks winger Jake DeBrusk, sources told Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch.

DeBrusk is widely considered to be available for trade as the Canucks enter a rebuild. He tallied 23 goals and 19 assists in 81 games last season, hitting the 20-goal mark for the fifth time in his nine-year career. His best year came in 2022-23, when he racked up 27 goals and 23 assists over 64 appearances with the Boston Bruins.

The 29-year-old is under contract for five more years with an annual cap hit of $5.5 million. His deal currently contains a full no-movement clause, which becomes a 15-team no-trade list July 1, 2027. It's unclear if he'd be willing to waive it for the Senators.

Ottawa's offseason needs include a top-six forward, a right-shot defenseman, and a backup goalie. The team enters the offseason with $16.9 million in cap space. Claude Giroux and Nick Jensen are the Senators' most prominent unrestricted free agents, while Jordan Spence is their most notable restricted free agent.
