Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders, Jeremy Swayman of the Boston Bruins, and Andrei Vasilevskiy are finalists for the Vezina Trophy recognizing the NHL's top goalie in the 2025-26 regular season, the league announced Wednesday.
The award is voted on by the league's general managers and won't be handed out until after the playoffs conclude.
Sorokin is a Vezina finalist for the second time after a runner-up finish in 2022-23. He went 29-24-2 this season with a .906 save percentage and a league-leading seven shutouts. The Islanders missed the playoffs but were in the race until the end of the season thanks in large part to Sorokin. He ranked second among all goaltenders with 52.59 goals saved above expected, according to Evolving-Hockey.
Swayman has never been nominated for the Vezina but won the William M. Jennings Trophy in 2022-23 in tandem with former teammate Linus Ullmark. Swayman was instrumental in leading the Bruins back to the playoffs, posting a 31-18-4 record with a .907 save percentage. He ranked third league-wide with 52.27 GSAx.
Vasilevskiy won the Vezina in 2018-19 and is a finalist for the sixth time in the past nine seasons. He led the NHL with 39 wins in 58 starts and posted a .911 save percentage. His underlying metrics (39.93 GSAx) were inferior to Sorokin's and Swayman's, but Vasilevskiy backstopped a 106-point season for the Lightning.
