Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed will undergo season-ending neck surgery, head coach Matt LaFleur announced Wednesday, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
LaFleur added that he doesn't believe Reed's injury will end his career.
Reed published an Instagram photo with the caption "11 out" shortly before the announcement.
The wideout was stretchered off after getting hit on the Packers' second play from scrimmage versus the New York Jets in Week 2. Postgame reports indicated that Reed had feeling and movement in all of his extremities.
Reed, who signed a three-year, $50.25-million extension with Green Bay during the offseason, has played only five games since the start of the 2025 season. He missed 10 games last year after breaking his collarbone in Week 2.
However, the 26-year-old has been a focal point of the Packers' offense when healthy. His 793 receiving yards in 2023 and 857 yards in 2024 led the team.
