Veteran guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies and plans to sign a one-year, $3.9-million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Caldwell-Pope is reuniting with LeBron James, who signed a two-year, $8-million contract with the 76ers on Friday to end his latest free agency saga. Caldwell-Pope and James played together for three seasons - from 2018-21 - as members of the Los Angeles Lakers. They won the NBA championship in 2020.
Caldwell-Pope spent one season with the Grizzlies after being traded from the Orlando Magic in June 2025. He averaged 8.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game last campaign. He shot 41% from the field and 31.6% from three in 51 contests.
The 33-year-old underwent season-ending finger surgery in February.
Caldwell-Pope has also played for the Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, and Denver Nuggets throughout his 13-season NBA career. He won a second title with the Nuggets in 2023.
The 76ers have had a busy offseason, also acquiring Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics earlier this month in exchange for Paul George and a package of picks.
