The Boston Red Sox placed left-hander Garrett Crochet on the 15-day injured list due to shoulder inflammation, the team announced Wednesday.
The move is retroactive to April 26.
Crochet missed three months of the 2023 campaign with shoulder inflammation when he played for the Chicago White Sox.
The 26-year-old has authored a career-worst 6.30 ERA with 11 walks in 30 innings this season. He pitched well in his last start, throwing six scoreless innings against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday.
The team recalled utility player Nate Eaton from Triple-A to fill Crochet's roster spot.
Boston enters Wednesday last in the AL East with a 12-18 record.
