Nice down Strasbourg to earn spot in French Cup final
Elye Wahi scored both goals as Nice won 2-0 away to Strasbourg on Wednesday to book a French Cup final date with Lens next month.
Wahi, who joined Nice on loan at the start of the year after a difficult spell with Eintracht Frankfurt, gave Nice the lead with a low strike into the corner early in the second half.
The Ivory Coast international punched Nice's ticket to the Stade de France with a late penalty after Mohamed Ali-Cho was brought down by Strasbourg defender Ismael Doukoure.
Nice won the last of their three French Cups in 1997 but finished runners-up as recently as 2022, losing 1-0 to Nantes in the final.
Claude Puel's side have the chance to salvage a troubled season when they face Lens on May 22, but Nice remain under threat in Ligue 1, only four points clear of Auxerre in the relegation play-off position.
